The first time I learned about painting with light to make a photograph, my mine was fairly much blown.  The beautiful painterly effects were a huge draw for me to experiment with this technique, and I love how all you really need to start is a simple flashlight.  No fancy equipment required!  Just patience and a willingness to experiment!
